山形地區「荒井工房」二代目，荒井幹雄蠟型鑄造的小壺。
紋飾有三，分別為飛鶴、綠毛龜和百年老松。很明顯這是以長壽為主題，適合送給父親又或長輩作壽宴之用。
蠟型鑄造的優點在製模時，當蠟體初成時，可以加黏一些配飾例如一條龍、一座橋、一間小屋或者簡單的蟹和龜(這都是蠟型常見的飾紋)，特色是可以造到很立體，這是砂鑄較難造到。
這個壺不例外，鶴、龜和老松都生動立體，與我們見慣的南部鐵壺有不同風格。
此壺約1000cc，小巧精緻，全新品；款署「幹雄」，是荒井幹雄著力之作。
This is a natural, elegant, and Shoulder-Shaped (Katatsuki) "Pine, Crane & Tortoise" Iron Kettle.
This exquisite small kettle is crafted using the lost-wax casting method by Mikio Arai, the second-generation master of the renowned Arai Workshop in the Yamagata region.
The kettle features three traditional motifs: flying cranes, the legendary long-tailed green hair tortoise (Minogame), and a century-old pine tree. With longevity as its clear and auspicious theme, this piece makes an impeccable Father’s Day gift or an honorable present for an elder's milestone birthday.
The beauty of the lost-wax casting technique (Rōgata) lies in the mold-making process. While the wax model is being shaped, artisans can meticulously add three-dimensional adornments—such as a dragon, a bridge, a small hut, or classic motifs like crabs and tortoises. This technique allows for an incredible level of depth and lifelike detail that is incredibly difficult to achieve with standard sand casting.
True to this mastery, the cranes, tortoise, and ancient pine on this kettle are vividly dimensional, offering a distinct and refreshing aesthetic compared to the standard Nanbu ironware we often see.
